报告人简介：

        Wayne Ji，美国密苏里大学终身教授，1983年获北京大学硕士（环境地学/环境遥感），1987年获美国路易斯安娜州大学博士学位（地理系/海岸带研究所），1991年获美国康涅狄格大学博士学位（自然资源/遥感/GIS），现为美国密苏里大学终身教授。自1990年代初期以来，主要从事基于遥感和GIS的大尺度的湿地评价及景观变化研究。20年来，有大量研究发表（英文），包括期刊，书籍，联邦政府研究报告及重要国际会议录文章。在湿地决策支持模型与系统，基于GIS的基因多样性分析GIS，浅海水深遥感模型等领域做出的许多开创性工作：首次提出了生态系统管理决策支持GIS的技术概念与框架，并研究开发了基于GIS的湿地价值评估模型及基于耦合野生生物模拟输出的评价模型；首次提出使用GIS支持湿地保护的执法评价（regulatory assessment）的方法，并研究开发了第一个此类决策支持GIS原型设计；首次提出了人类影响下湿地脆弱性概念及其评价方法，并研究构建了基于地理空间数据的湿地脆弱度评价模型(geospatial data-based wetland vulnerability assessment model)等。 2006年，季维教授获选美国富布赖特资深学者(US Fulbright Senior Scholar)。

报告内容简介：

       This presentation will discuss the challenges in ecosystem-based management & research and introduce related perspectives adopted for wetland management or research in recent decades, including ecosystem management, landscape-level methodology, environmental complexity, and watershed approach. The lecture will focus on technical approaches for ecosystem-based wetland management and research. The presentation will highlight two wetland ecosystem modeling projects: Community-based wetland value assessment models used for planning coastal Louisiana wetland restoration as well as ATLSS models used for south Florida ecosystem restoration management.
